The Multistem Crab Apple Scarlett is a multi-stemmed specimen of Malus toringo ‘Scarlett’, grown with several trunks rising from the base to create a graceful, spreading canopy. This distinctive Crab Apple offers a unique combination of dark, bronze-purple foliage, spring blossom, and autumn fruit on an elegant multi-stemmed form.

In spring, deep pink to magenta flowers emerge from dark buds, creating a striking contrast against the newly emerging bronze-purple foliage. Through summer, the small, deeply lobed leaves maintain their rich, dark colour — significantly more intense than many purple-leaved Crab Apples. In autumn, small, dark red-purple fruits appear in abundance, complementing the foliage as it takes on deeper tones before falling.

Malus toringo ‘Scarlett’ has a naturally graceful, arching habit that lends itself beautifully to multi-stemmed growing. The multiple stems create an open, layered canopy that allows dappled light to filter through. It thrives in full sun (essential for the best foliage colour) and most well-drained soils. Good disease resistance and a compact, manageable size make it an excellent specimen tree for gardens of all sizes.
