In spring, deep pink to magenta flowers emerge from dark buds, creating a striking contrast against the newly emerging bronze-purple foliage. Through summer, the small, deeply lobed leaves maintain their rich, dark colour — significantly more intense than many purple-leaved Crab Apples. In autumn, small, dark red-purple fruits appear in abundance, complementing the foliage as it takes on deeper tones before falling.
