The Box Head Field Maple Elsrijk is a formally trained specimen of Acer campestre ‘Elsrijk’, shaped into a dense, clipped cube atop a clear stem. This cultivar was selected for its compact, upright growth habit and reliably dense canopy, making it one of the finest field maples for architectural training.

The foliage emerges fresh green in spring, darkening through summer before turning rich golden-yellow in autumn. The leaves are smaller and more uniformly sized than the straight species, which contributes to the tight, even finish when clipped into a box head form.

Acer campestre ‘Elsrijk’ is exceptionally hardy and adaptable, tolerating exposed sites, pollution, and a wide range of soil types including chalk. It thrives in full sun to partial shade.
